Chapter 10: Generation rising creating a counterculture from scratch (and a dash of salt)

An amazing teenage boy stood out to me in this chapter his name is Corner Cress. Corner was reading a World Vision magazine when he came across it he realised that the magazine was about poor children suffering and in pain because of starvation and hunger corner continued reading and it really spoke to him. He started to realise how easy his life was when he looked at the poor children. Corner realised that something ewas not right and he had to do something about it doesn't exactly say in this chapter what he did but when he posted that story it was two years ago when he did it so he must be doing something amazing for the glory of God by helping these poor children.

We all can be salt and light to this world we need to look deep within ourselves and realise that we are bigger than what we think we need to pray and ask God what we can do to help this world and the people in it.

A HOLY AMBITION. Wow I can't wait to find mine what this part is about well as a child we play with dolls and toy trucks but as we grow and become adults we begin to turns those small things into big things like girls becoming nurses and midwives and delivering babies and caring for real ones, boys will build building with tractors and big trucks that are real. Things like these we need to take a hold of and realise that as we grow and become adults we need to let go our childish behaviour and start looking beyond dolls and toy trucks and look and pray for our holy ambition to come. So what is your HOLY AMBITION?

Chapter: Taking A stand

This chapter is real it gave me a sense that I need to take a stand and not care about what everyone else thinks, if I am christian which I am nothing Is going to stop me and I am going to live it for the rest of my life even if I have to go against the crowd and everything makes fun of me. If I keep sticking with God he will help all the way no matter what the circumstance.

What defines me at the moment I feel like I am a liar most of the time this is why some people can't trust me, but once I start doing hard things that issue is going to change, I know another thing that defines I am a real christian everyone at school calls me a God freak, I really love being known by this but in some ways I do lose some opputunities like not being invited to parties not being able to hang out with cool crowds but I don't really care because I know in long run it really is going benifit me going against the crowd and sticking to what I know is right and taking a stand.

Chapter 8: Small Hard things how to do hard things that don't pay off immediately

chapter 8 is a great chapter it talks about things that we do that are toward us and don't pay off immediately but in the long run it does even though it doesn't immediately. Respecting my parents really stood out and spoke to me in this chapter, when I do respect them they may not reward me but bI will be rewared in long run from God.

I'm sorry this is such a short review but this is all God spoke to through this chapter I hope it's okay.

Chapter 7: The Power of Collaboration How to do hard things that are too big too do alone

Chapter 7 is my favourite and best chapter yet, it talks about working together to achieve great and big things and in so doing we recieve great rewards from God with his help and blessing,

The first topic I want to head up is strength numbers as the bible says when two or more are gathered there he is in the midst of them. This statement really touches me, when teenagers like us reach out to other people God will help us through the good and the bad.

Older people are supposably wiser than the younger toward Alex and Brett they believe that the elders in the church are the ones that we should look up to.

teaming up at home is also another form of collaboration for example when familes put together a fundraiser to raise money they are collabrating together, we should all take a stand and start doing this.

I personally am going to collorbrate with my family memebers from this day foward by help clean the backyard that needs to by done over the weekend, i am also going to put togetehr fun fundraisers for compassion and for the earthquake in New Zealand.

The last topic I want to close with is don't give up and success happens (in more ways than one)
these two topics spoke to my heart, don't give up even if times are getting tough just keeping pushing through and ask God to help the group/team and you, the other topic was success happens in more ways than one, which means there is plenty more ways we can work together to raise money or find the dirty clothes than just one.

When hard things tackle us we need to stand together and work as a team to achieve big hard things. But first we need to pray, plan and then go for it.

Chapter 6: Raising the bar (how to hard things that go beyond what is expected or required)

Chapter 6 talks about going beyond what is expected or required for example Sarah was low in her grades but then stood high and aimed toward getting a higher grade and she accomplished it even though she wasn't expected to do it.

Alex and Brett explain about a guy in our minds called Mr. Complancy this guy attacks our minds by saying that our life is a breeze and there is nothing wrong with it but there is, everyday we face new challenges and experiences that sometimes we think they aren't worth worrying about, but they are!

Do what is hard for you, things that take you outside your comfort zone like public speaking for example.

Be known for what you do (more than for what you don't) which in other mords means that let people see that you are reliable faithful christian not things that you don't do e.g go partying late at night saying no to pre-marital sex etc.

The last thing I want to say on this topic is that we need to stop being whimps and become world changers for christ and to lead others to christ.

Chapter 5: That First Scary Step How to do things that take you out of your comfort zone

Chapter 5 talks about stepping outside your comfort zone to do "Hard things" . They also explain that God is along side us all of the way when we step outside that zone, the boys say that you can't get success without risking failure which means that yes we will stumble along the way and we will make mistakes but we just have to get back on our feet and try again. There is a story about a girl that does public speaking and she use to hate that but she stood and came out of that comfort zone and it now she is famous because she accomplished her great fear and came out of her comfort zone, we too can do that but we just have to step outside of our comfort zone, this is the first step for accomplishing and doing "hard things".

Chapter 4: A Better Way

Chapter 4 talks about how our teenage years impact our future and what is for our lives. The boys explain that our teenage years is a launch pad into life which we can start doing things now that will benifit our future.

Kidults are really common in today's society. Kidults are people that are adults, but act as little children still, because they didn't live the fulling teenage life as a launch pad into their future which they lived.
The boys also explain that it's not too late if we are teenagers now, because we can still use these years as a launch pad. In chapter 5: The boys will give us some examples of how to launch the pad into our everyday life now as teenagers to benifit our future as we enter into adults.

Chapter 3: The Myth of Adolescence EXPOSING LOW EXPECTATIONS THAT ARE ROBBING OUR GENERATION

OMG this chapter really spoke to me, In this chapter the boys explain that society today expect teenagers to be lazy, sit around and act as teenage life as a cruise. When actually our teen years means a lot because it is a launch pad into our future and will determine what we will become, but more about that in chapter 4 and the next blog.

What this chapter is saying is that teens in this generation are low and aren't expected to do much, but they are suppose to do a lot. Teens are suppose to be influnces to younger people but not today, back about 100 years ago there was no such thing as a TEENAGER but as this generation came to be the world put the word ADOLESCENCE & TEENAGER into everyday life which now means the ages between 13 and 19. When a child is becoming an adult going through puberty and maturing.

People about 100 years ago at the age of 15 were adults and they were given big jobs that most 30 year olds can't even do these days. But why isn't it like this these days? It's because society these believes that children between ages 13 & 19 should have adventurous time during this stage. but it's not true. Teens should become more mature, wiser and respectful and see what they have install for their lives in the future determined by how they are living their teens lives at the moment and in the years to come. Now all about how we can put that into practise in chapter 4.

Chapter 2: The birth of a big idea

Chapter 2 talks about Alex and Brett finding work in a high place at only the age of 16. What their trying to say is that all of our ideas and our attitudes determine who we going to become when we grow up. It doesn't matter what society says about teens, we christian teens and in general teens can become bigger than we what think or the world thinks that we are.

Brett and Alex also talk about how to rebel against rebellion, which means going against what the world thinks of us and who teens are and starting acting maturly and not like this world today.

We have to think better than what we are and start living out the truth about what real christian teenages are like and who they are to become. Respectful and mature.

Do Hard Things by: Alex & Brett harris chapter 1: Most people don't... A different kind of Teen book

Wow this book is amazing, I believe that this book is going to touch and inspire me. The minute I opened this book I got a revelation that God is going to change me around for the better, against rebellion. Chapter 1 talks about how this book is different from every other kind of teen book. You see in this generation of teens we are expected to just read books and for them not to do anything for us,

but this book is challenges us differently from today society, Brett and Alex explain that standing out and going against rebellion in going to be a new generation for teen christians like us today. They also explain that they wrote up a blog called rebellution which means rebellion against revelution. Brett and Alex believe that this generation is going to go against the revelution of this world and go against rebellion. I'm praying right now that as I read this book God is going to change my heart and thinking and stand on what God says about rebellion in this generation. I am today going against the revelution on rebellion and start focusing on what God wants for me in my teen years yet to come to be good and respectful.
